The Origin Story.

The Harmony Mountain House is the result of the colliding dreams of its stewards… Elyza and Sarah.

The two first met in December 2020, when Elyza hosted a cacao ceremony for Sarah + her coworkers at Charm City Integrative Health in Baltimore, MD. Sarah was so enthralled and moved by the experience, that she reached out to Elyza to schedule a private cacao ceremony for her birthday, in February. What both expected to be a 3ish hour cacao ceremony, turned into 8 hours of incredibly deep spiritual awakenings, soul rememberings, and the beginning of a life journey co-creating together.

It was during this ceremony, through connecting with the sacred medicine that is Grandmother Cacao, that Elyza spoke out the vision that would come to be the catalyst for the next few months of dreaming, planning, and ALLOWING this reality to come to fruition.

In March 2021, Elyza and Sarah found the property that would become The Harmony Mountain House listed on a website called findthedivine.com under retreat centers for sale (no, not a joke… this is literally how it happened). A quick cold call to the phone number listed informed them that the house was, in fact, still trying to be sold by the original owner of 40 years.

While they continued to explore other options in other locations (it’s not like the plan was to relocate to New Jersey!), this house kept speaking to them. Finally, in June 2021 (after 3+ months of dreaming about this space), Elyza and Sarah were able to visit in person and ended up putting an offer on the house later that week.

After two and a half stressful months of being under contract, working with attorneys, getting inspections completed, and many drives from Baltimore to Harmony spending nights on blow up mattresses in the middle of an empty living room… Elyza and Sarah were handed the keys to the incredibly sacred property they were now the new stewards of.

And thus, The Harmony Mountain House was officially born.

In the year(s) since moving in, Elyza and Sarah (with the help of many friends during various GSD weeks/weekends), have painted every inch of every wall in the house, refinished + redecorated every bedroom, and furnished the entire home to be ready for guests! They’ve hosted over a dozen retreats and had well over 200 guests between retreats, events, and Airbnb in just the past year, bringing in nothing but stellar reviews! They are just getting started with building this oasis for human healing and connection… and are ready to open their arms and their space for you to experience the magic, too.
