“yin yoga is truly a medicine for our times… slow, intentional, and healing on a fascial level.”

-elyza dolby

Twenty-two hours…

of learning, of presence, of practice,

of inquiry, of embodiment, of ritual, of reverence.

Of filling yourself up before you pour into others.

Of pouring into others to find your unique voice.

A training unlike other yoga trainings… with a focus on so much more than the asana (though the asana will of course be covered, too) and an opportunity to get curious about how yin yoga will transform your life — and how you might transform others lives with this offering, too.

  • Arrive with all that you are carrying. Begin with embodiment, curiosity, and openness.

We start slowing and intentionally, opening a container for learning, for healing, and for expanding… from there, everything becomes possible.

Yin is a practice of spaciousness… so before we go DEEP, we make the space to do so.

What do you need to release to be ready for the journey ahead?

You will complete this first evening together having connected with yourself and your fellow training cohort, and having prepared the necessary space to dive into the rest of the weekend together.

  • Drop into a cacao circle followed by an immersive healing practice to build relationship with yin yoga in your own body.

From this place of increased receptivity, we will open a circle to begin the transmissions known as Yin Yoga.

Throughout this hands-on, interactive session, we will contemplate & fill in the blanks of the practice, answering questions  like: Why does Yin Yoga have the incredible impact that it does on those who practice it regularly? What are the Energetics behind Yin Yoga? How is the physical body affected by Yin Yoga? How does one create optimal healing space for themselves or students to practice Yin Yoga? Why is Yin Yoga practiced best as a ritual (a regular practice that is returned to frequently)?

We deepen into this practice of Receptivity with...

✦ How Yin Creates Healing on the Subtle & Physical Levels

✦ Meridian Theory & Energetic Pathways

✦ Building the Sacred through Daily Rituals + Yin

    ✦ The Ritual of Receiving

  • From a place of fullness, we shift toward the sacred art of offering. Sharing Yin is not just teaching postures; it’s transmitting an energy of deep permission, sanctuary, and inner alignment.

We explore how to create intentional, accessible, and transformative Yin experiences for others — while staying rooted in authenticity.

We learn to transmit the teaching of Yin Yoga through...

✦ Essential Yin Postures & Variations

✦ Infusing Ritual into Class Structure & Private Sessions

✦ The Wall as the ultimate Yin Assist (and other prop variations)

✦ Intentional Sequencing for Deep Healing

✦ Serving Diverse Bodies, Hearts, and Spirits

We close this full day of learning with a short but sweet practice to to prepare you for integrating all of the wisdom into your own unique offering(s.)

  • True wisdom lives in integration – to integrate means to make into a whole or incorporate into a larger structure. This is perhaps the most crucial piece of the yin puzzle... both for this course, and for whatever you create from it next.

On our final day, we dream, design, and embody the ways Yin can ripple through our lives and offerings. You’ll practice teaching, receive loving feedback, and leave with a clear vision for bringing Yin into the world – whether for yourself, your community, or both.

Our weekend will close with a ritual circle to bring it all together & celebrate the journey that is just beginning.

By completing this immersion, you may:

Cultivate a profound personal Yin Yoga practice anchored in ritual, receptivity, and inner alignment

Confidently create and guide Yin practices for yourself and, if desired, for your students, clients, community

Understand the energetic and physical foundations of Yin Yoga, including Meridian Theory and subtle body awareness

Develop the skills to hold sacred space for profound stillness, healing, and integration

Understand the heart of yin yoga & why this practice is so crucial for our world today

Walk away with ready-to-share sequences, rituals, and practices adaptable to diverse populations

Carry the tools to build Yin into your daily rhythm and expand it into your offerings with authenticity and heart

And of course, be ready to share yin from your own authentic voice, however you personally see fit!

*Please note: This course is open to ALL mind, body & spirit practitioners who feel called to deepen their understanding of Yin, including but not limited to yoga & movement teachers & students, energy workers, therapists, educators, and more. Those planning to teach Yin formally are encouraged to have a 200hr YTT or equivalent anatomy knowledge, as this immersion focuses more on ritual, energetics, and embodiment than on anatomy details. Private mentorships with Elyza are available for deeper study after the immersion concludes.

Choose your own adventure as a commuter or attend the full retreat for an entirely immersive weekend together.

About the guide //

Elyza Dolby is many things, including a 500E-RYT — which is most pertinent to this training, and is also mother to a 3-year old SUN, birth worker, land steward at The Harmony Mountain House, space holder, ritual & ceremonialist — which are all also pertinent, as she does her best to integrate each part of herself into what she creates.

Elyza’s upbeat lifestyle as a maiden led her to frequent “burnout” and a refusal to slow down… until YIN YOGA found her in 2016. She immersed herself in an in-person training with Jessie Kates, along with various virtual offerings with Bernie Clark and other guides, and was officially changed. She went from teaching 20+ vinyasa classes per week to realizing that she needed a slow down all around, as did many of her students.

Her unique yin workshops & approaching yin through a ritualistic lens became renowned in the DMV area, and in the past almost decade, she’s held yin classes at festivals with 150+ students, infiltrated various corporate “giants” like AOL & Verizon to offer healing yin classes during lunch break, and offered yin at some of the most beautiful places in the world like during sunset in Nicaragua, and in the jungles of Bali.

She has had students ask for her to facilitate a training for many years without any desire to do so, but it finally clicked for her when a friend who owns a studio asked her to come offer a yin training that there was something beautiful wanting to be birthed here: a way to share her unique perspective of yin yoga through the lens of ritual, something that could truly benefit all who experience it. She has now guided two groups through the training with many of them stepping in as yin yoga teachers since, and so looks forward to guiding many more into experiencing & sharing this deep, necessary medicine with anyone who is called to it.

“I loved our Yin training! Truly, I appreciated the time you took to travel here to share your knowledge with us; I value all of your knowledge and, just as importantly, your talent in teaching what you know to others. The workshop has been a game changer for me. Since last weekend, I have developed a home yin practice and I’ve been sleeping so much better.”

— Rachel

“I had an incredible time receiving the Yin Ritual Training with Elyza. The container was held with so much beauty and intention. Elyza has been one of my favorite yoga practitioners for many years—and now, learning this skill from her felt like the most aligned next step.

One of the things I loved most was that, beyond just learning the yin poses—which of course is important—Elyza taught us how to lead from intuition. She encouraged us to weave our own wisdom and lived experience into the delivery of the class. Elyza turns everything she touches into deep ritual. Learning from her is a true blessing. She knows her craft inside and out. If you have the opportunity to take this training with Elyza, I couldn’t recommend it more.”

— Lola

“Elyza’s The Ritual of Yin teacher training was nourishing and expansive. I’ve taking Yin classes from Elyza and many other teachers before, yet the way Elyza holds space during Yin has always felt super special and unique. During her ritual of Yin training, I was able to better understand how the ritualistic nature that Elyza brings into holding a “yin yoga class” not just a regular class but a ceremony with deep reverence.

Through doing this training, I learned new ways invite in ritual into all aspects of my teaching practice, as well as walked away with my own unique sequence ready to share with my community. The way Elyza planned out the training allowed for hands on learning, without feeling drained or overwhelmed by the material. I highly recommend it for yoga teachers or healers looking to start and further grow their practice! .”

— Naadiya

“It’s always ideal to learn from teachers that truly embody what they are offering and Elyza is definitely one of them! Along with her deeply nurturing essence and passion for holistic awareness, Elyza includes various ways of transmitting the sacred practice of yin to her students. The retreat-style training is not just about learning yin postures/sequences but, more importantly, receiving the medicine of yin and playing with how you would authentically introduce the practice within your own personal life and to others. Being initiated into yin yoga by Elyza allowed for a deeper anchoring of my own true nature.”

— Michelle

“Elyza’s Yin Yoga training has not only deepened my personal yoga practice with heart centering revelations but has professionally supported me to integrate profound body awareness into the “Embodied Mark Making” sessions I facilitate.

— Kirsten
